These guidelines outline how we talk about Fred Hutch Cancer Center — how we use our name and refer to our organization, along with the core messages that define who we are. Together, they support clear, consistent recognition across audiences.
Use the boilerplate, elevator pitch and one-liner for introductions and high-level moments. They can be used as written or adapted to support more specific messaging.

UW Medicine Relationship Descriptors
The following relationship descriptors offer descriptors of varying lengths that are approved for use. Use of other descriptors must be approved by Fred Hutch Marketing.
Communications to patients should include one of the approved relationship descriptors. Be aware that Fred Hutch clinical forms and templates already include Version A as part of the template, usually in proximity to the UW Medicine logo, so be alert to redundancy.
Version A – Minimum requirement; use when space is limited

Version B – Recommended for general audiences

Together we provide you with the specialized focus of a top-ranked cancer center and the comprehensive services of a leading health system. You’ll also have access to the latest research, treatment options and clinical trials.
